Facilitate Happiness in Your Home

Did you know that we spend an average of 68.7% of our lives in our homes? That’s a lot of time to spend in a space that makes you unhappy. But we so easily learn to live in the space that we’re in – to adapt to surroundings. It’s easy to become complacent about your home’s design; and from the old curtains in your living room that you can’t stand or paint color in your bathroom that gives you a headache, we don’t always take the time and resources to invest in our living space.

A freshly painted room is the easiest and the most affordable way to turn a bummer of a room into something spectacular! You can use color to cultivate a specific look and feel in a space, almost like setting a mood for the room.

The first step is finding something that inspires you, maybe it’s your favorite dress or a pillow that catches your eye.  You might be in love with Mother Nature who is the best colorist, by the way.

Caution! Color is contagious! Only select three colors from your object or scene to use as a guide. (Unless you want to achieve a Boho look)  I’ll have more on that at a later time.

Here’s an Example:  If you chose a Navy Blue as one of your colors, you can use it on an accent chair in your family room and then reintroduce that same Navy on your dining chairs or curtains. Now use that same Blue in larger and smaller doses as you thread it from one space to the next creating flow and continuity.

Your home is your way to express yourself and what better way to do that than with your own unique color palette. Let me know if I can assist and Happy Coloring!
